At this point we were starving, dehydrated and very upset that the first day of our holiday was ruined so we went to get something to eat in the shopping center round the corner. I went to the Spa and they confirmed that it would not be opening. I was starting to get quite upset now as the water was still not on even though staff were adamant that it was, I invited them to my room to show them it was not working and although the lady agreed to come with me, she then went behind reception and started doing something else leaving us waiting in the reception area, she did not come back. We did this but the reception staff left the phone sitting on the desk before ending the call ( we watched them do it) at which point I asked for my phone back. The holiday company rang to say that they were having trouble contacting the Hotel as they were not answering the telephones so I suggested that they rang my mobile and I would pas them to reception staff. The room was disappointing considering we booked junior premium. All lifts were out of order so we went to our room on the fourth floor using the stairs. I was told that the water was back on, the spa was opening in minutes and they were just waiting for the rooms to be cleaned which would take around half an hour so we were checked in and were given a room. After a couple of hours, we noticed that other people were being taken to other hotels so went back to reception to ask why we were being overlooked. During this time we were unable to use the toilets as they were completely backed up and being thirsty after travelling we were refused water or any type of beverage as the bar 'didn't open untill 6pm'. We were advised to take a seat in reception where we waited for over an hour watching people come into the Hotel and being told the same thing. When we eventually got to the front of the queue we were informed that there had been some sort of leak in the basement and the Hotel did not have any water and this had been the case since 7am that morning. On arriving here at 3pm, there were fire engines all over and a large queue at reception. Very nice mini break in a pleasant hotel! I would definitely recommend this hotel- for the price we paid I wasn't expecting it to be so nice! Didn't have any spare time to use the spa, but it seemed popular. On our second day we ventured into Paris on the train for some sightseeing before the airport. Perfect location for Disneyland-just one stop away on the RER. There is a brilliant supermarket in the lower level of the shopping mall nearby. Our check in and check out experiences were good! The area itself is nice and quiet and has a few restaurants (we ate in the Italian twice- recommended!) bars and shops. Some reviews said the staff were unfriendly and unhelpful. We also had a kitchenette with a fridge which was really handy. The robes and slippers were a nice touch. However, upon arrival we were really pleased with the standard of the hotel for the price we paid! It was clean, nicely decorated and the room was spacious and of a high standard. My fiancé surprised me with a weekend break to Disneyland/Paris so I looked up where we were staying and read quite a lot of mixed reviews.
